Default 5450 has white line across screen and needs soft reset after power on

My 5450 has just started misbehaving for no apparent reason. There is now a 1-pixel wide white line horizontally across the screen just above midway down the screen and it won't go away.

Also, when I turn power on to use it, I get a blank (sometimes faint lines vertically) screen. When I then soft reset, the unit fires up normally, but I have to soft reset every time I turn on!

I have reinstalled the ROM, done hard resets etc. No change. Before I jump to the conclusion that it's a hardware problem, has anyone seen this type of problem before? eg could it be related to a battery ageing problem?

TIA

Send a message via MSN to kahchong

maybe your pocket pc lcd screen is damaged and you will need to send your pocket pc for maintainence.

problems like this occur if your pocket pc receives a shock or when you drop it.

Unlikely. Do you get the same problem when you're connected to AC?

If you do, I'd contact HP. If not, perhaps it may be your battery, but I'd still contact HP regardless.
