Default 2215 vs. 4155

I have a 2215. Was thinking of selling and going to the 4155 for the smaller size and built-in Wi-Fi. When I went to local Best Buy to look at 4155, they were out of them and I was informed they are discontinuing the 4155? Has anyone heard this? I thought the 4155 was the latest and greatest for small form factor and built in Wi-Fi? Is there a replacement model? Should I stay with my 2215? Thanks for the input.

BEst Buy is discontinuing them, not HP
They will be getting another model in. For a while the 4155 was only $50.00 bucks more than the 2215.
If you want to upgrade, I would think about how much money you have already invested in your 2215. I personally would wait for another model to come out that had major changes.

I'm a 2215 user who switched over to a 4150, and I'm loving it. The 4150 is smaller and has a more contrast-heavy screen, but the built-in WiFi is really what "does" it for me. ;-)

I wouldn't put to much stock in what a Best Buy employee says. They have also claimed that Palm's T3 is also discontinued-after 3 months? Doubtful. Unfortunately, they don't seem to have a way to tell what items are on the next truckload.

BTW the 4155 is available on Best Buy.com for $449 if you are still interested.

I can understand the lack of knowledge by the typical sales person, but, they had the price marked down to $388 which seemed strange to me. He said they are not getting more in. As the above post indicated, it must be that Best Buy is discontinuing, not HP. If I can find one still at a store for $388, that seems like a good deal.

Thanks for input. I just wondered if people knew of a new unit to be introduced soon, so that I should wait until it comes out versus the 4155 unit.

2215 and 4155 are almost the same devices. i dont understand why people are selling 2215 to buy a 4155. throw a wifi card into CF slot and its a 4155. am i wrong? of course there may me some differences but is it worth?
this is a sales technique. and i think you are caught in the web!

The 2215 and 4155 are not identical devices. Pick them up and hold them in your hand. The 4155 is noticeably smaller, and integrated WiFi is nice (no antenna sticking out of the device).

Default Discontinued?

Why would Best Buy discontinue a best seller. I was at my local Best Buy just yesterday, they said they expect the 4155 back in stores on 1/15.

The price they list is $388 currently (for a sold out item). Just a sales ploy to keep you interested during the restock delay. I would not be shocked if the price goes back to $449 once it is back in stock.

Sorry, it may not be back on the shelves. According to my Best Buy rep, they are re-doing their handheld section and was not sure what would be displayed. So who knows?

What 8O ? These two machines are not even close to the same. Adding a cf to the 2215 and thinking you have the same device is a tremendous oversimplification.
