Default MS Activation Determination

Do you know how to tell how many Activations your MS Reader has?

I don’t, but would like to know. So far as I can tell, there is no way to discover your official count.

Here is my best guess:

1. Laptop with W2K
2. Same Laptop as (1), rebuilt with XPP from scratch
3. Ipaq PPC
4. Desktop with XPP
5. Reactivation Upgrade for (4)
6. Reactivation Upgrade for (3)

That's six, I guess. In reality, there are only three systems that could be used to read secure LIT files, two if you discount (2) that was never upgraded with the new security. On the other hand, it looks like I might be maxed out on Activations. Is there any real way to tell?

If I’m maxed, maybe now is the time to ask for more, before I’m actually need to Activate a new system.

As an aside, I prefer MS Reader to others ebook readers I’ve tried. Palm, MobiPocket, and Ubook. The faults of the others were picayune, but it caused me not to like them. Maybe it’s just the fact that I use MS Reader and would like others if I overlooked the small faults. I’m sure others see faults in MS Reader too, but their the Devil-I-Know faults.

Reactivations are not *supposed* to increase your device count.
