Some problems with Imageer

I am trialing Imageer at the moment. The speed at viewing my files on the CF card in my iPAQ 2210 is fantastic and the editing tools are really useful for working out "keepers"
However got a few niggles - I wanted to use Imageer to select all the files on my CF card - 64mB and copy to a SD card using the Save to Album but I encounter the following issues:
Operation fails due to lack of memory - tried giving iPAQ as much as 10mB for programmes and 4mB for storage.
What is odd is files change in size on 100% compression - i.e. 1.7mB to 1.3mB. Some files even get bigger. I wanted to copy files and not alter the original. Am I better off just using copy and paste.
Alternatively what else do others use to back up the CF card to the SD card?
