Default Nasa TV ( Real feed :( ) Onto a PPC?

Afternoon chaps...

I'm thinking of getting a PPC - undecided on make or model yet, but one thing is sure, it'll be with WLAN, as I have a wireless network at home. One high priority thing I'd LIKE to do with it is watch Nasa TV without the bulk of my Laptop or PC getting in the way. There are a lot of realplayer feeds for NTV available ( http://www.napacomfort.com/mars/nasa_feed.html ) but none that I know of for WMP.

Has anyone had any luck with the PPC Real Player. I know Real Player is essentially the software of satan himself, and I use real-alternative on my laptop and main rig, but I think I'm right in thinking there isnt a PPC alternative to RP for RP feeds?

So - essentially - do those RP feeds for NTV work on a PPC - and if any of you have it work - which make and model of PPC are you using? I'm loving the Dell Axim X30, but am open to any and all suggestions

Any reoprts on success in watching NTV from one or more of those feed would be much appreciated

Cheers

Doug

I really thought there was a WMV feed of NTV. I'll try to look for it sometime, but know I've used it before.

Yeah there is:

Works fine on my PPC, but why you'd want to watch NASA TV all day is beyond me... Anyway enjoy!

Good stuff ( what machine are you running? )

The problem is - there's so FEW WMP feeds, that when something cool is on (something landing on mars, something going into orbit around jupiter, yadda yadda yadda ) that the WMP feeds tend to get totally killed, but there's so many RP feeds, you can usually find one that works.

Of course that'ls always an option - but you hear SO many bad things about it. ( and I use real alternative on my main PC) - but really if I could hear people say "yup - RP's working with a few of those nasa links from http://www.napacomfort.com/mars/nasa_feed.html
- then I'd be MUCh happier and probably ordering an Axim later today

I can't say I have heard anyone with problems with it, but I also can't say I've heard anyone use it. I think most avoid it for the same reason they avoid the pc version. we hate real player.

Hi djellison another long time NASA tv junkie here ...

I have installed Real Player ppc version verion 2.0.0.28 on my hp2210 and opened some some of those streaming video .rm links, it seems to be working fine. A tap on the full screen button and it jumps landcape, no problems so far.

www.real.com/player/mobile

My only problem is the D-Link DFC660W CF 802.11 adapter sux lots of power.

ps Real Player onthe PC is not as bad as you make it out - been using it since ver 1.
