Default Direct recording

This may seem obvious to most ipaq owners, but if you set your microphone recording quality to the highest setting: Stereo 44,000 KHz, at a whopping 172 kbps you virtually have recording studio quality sound. As long as there is no background noise, I just record direct off the radio/CD player.etc. Although radio sound quality will naturally be poor. Ensure the unit is not too close (especially on 'conference' recording) as it will pick up alot of static.

Of course, the sound files are recorded in .WAV and can be huge (40MB and above for a song sample). So I recommend transferring them to your PC, and in a good music file conversion tool convert it to a low bandwitch MP3 or better yet WMA file and then save it back to your Pocket PC.

NoteM or Resco Audio Recorder can record directly to MP3s at a high bit rate.
