I downloaded the first Theme Generator from Microsoft, created a theme, and thought it turned out pretty well. Then, whenever version 2 came out, I downloaded it and tried to create the same theme. I think the first one had an easier method to stretch a graphic to fit, because the later attempts didn't look as good. My compromise...install both! I wonder if version 1 is even available anymore?

I like to use Photoshop to edit the pictures... the size is:

background image (240x268 pixels)
start menu image (158x290 pixels)

The I use Theme Generator v.2 to adjust colors, fonts, etc....

I think it also runs on Win 2000, but I'm not sure. I use it at work where we have XP...still running 98SE at home. By the way, there are other software programs for purchase which can also create themes and will run on Win 98. You might try McDeb's thememaker. She has created and given a lot of themes to the PPC community. There are others as well.

Thats right, it also runs on W2k. I think you need one of the servicepacks... you'll find SP4 here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000...p4/default.asp
