Yeah, thanks for that useful update almost 19 days after the question. If you hadn't noticed, Spud_18 seemed happy with my answer.

Next time, try at least doing the search and posting a link to something (if there is anything to post). :twak:

Hey - we don't want to discourage people from trying to be helpful, even if it is late. I've seen some responses to month-old threads where an answer to a question wasn't *available* until much later...

I agree, Kati. However, I didn't think the posting was helpful, that's all. I'm sure anybody with half a brain who wanted a free program would have thought to add "free download" or "freeware" to the search query after I had suggested Googling.

If a link had been posted to a freeware program, that would have been useful, and I wouldn't have said anything.

However, if you think the post I was commenting on was useful, I apologize.

thats OK nobody was hurt. pony was right.
i think there exits a program but i couldnt remember its name and i was lazy to search the program so i pointed that you can find that program if you search this way.
but there is a flipside of the coin. not all posts will be expected to be full of knowledge. yes i'll be happy to help anybody in this forum mostly techical discussions because i am an engineer but sometimes we just talk and chit chat.
dont expect people to be serious all the time

Don't worry, I don't. I know that all 3100 :!: posts of mine weren't serious (like the Robot Protest thread :-D).

As a suggestion, though, if the thread seems to have died, don't revive it unless there's really something new. If you'd suggested doing a freeware search a day or two after the question, it probably wouldn't have bothered me. If you'd pointed out a new program, regardless of when, that also wouldn't have bothered me.

Anyway, the important thing is that the user found a program he liked, so, as far as I'm concerned, the issue is resolved. :-)
