Is there a PPC program like NOTES?

Use apMemo. Its a seperate notes program, but it has an alarm feature. Plus it's a freeware!!

For some reason, I can't get it to work...how do you properly install it? Are there any other programs too? Ones that would sync with my computer?

Pocket Informant provides that with its "Alarm Notes".

Is there a newer version of BugMe? I have an older one I am trying out, but it is kind of ...buggy (pardon the pun...it wasn't intentional

or a better one? i don't like apMemo cause when the reminder comes on...it just shows a window saying "ApMemo" with the time...THEN it shows the actual memo after you hit the dismiss or snooze button...it is better to just show the actual memo...also, is there one that shows it countdown until the time the alarm is to go off? like the one that is on Diddlebug for the Palm
