Problem with assigning Button 1 for Microsoft Voice Command

My problem is I have the PocketPC and I want to run Microsoft Voice Command but the button reassignment does not work. Button 1 is reassigned to Voice Command but it still makes the Calendar (default setting) come up when I push the hardware Button 1. As a matter of fact neither Button 1 or Button 2 can be reassigned to anything you want but they still make the default of Calendar for Button 1 and Contacts for Button 2 applications launch and not what is selected on the Buttons page. They show on the screen that they have been reassigned but don't actually change the action when the button is pushed.
