new O2 phone problem

excuse me,my friend got his new O2 phone.when he bought,he say he can type chinese by using write.but after he try remove the SD memory card,then put it back.after that,he cannot write out chinese word.when write out is a blank.so what is the problem?need reinstall?me didnt got that software also..please help.if my english is badly.please forgive me
