Please give some more information about the network to which you are trying to connect, for starters do you know:
is it configured for wireless b or wireless g only?
is it broadcasting its network ID (SSID)?
is it using any sort of encryption?

are you trying to set up your own wireless network in your home?

ON the bottom right corner of the screen you should see a set of what look like broken bars. Click on that and the WLAN Utility will open. Now click on turn on WiFi. When you do that you'll see a little beacon at the top of the screen. Now your Ax will start scanning for networks. When you see yours click on it and follow the prompts from there.

X50 basic or mid? I may be wrong but the basic one was BT only.

The Bluetooth icon looks is a sort of oval with a couple of triangles in it. The Wifi icon looks like broken bars. Let's get to your wireless settings a different way. Click on Start > Settings > then the Connections tab. If you don't see an applet called Dell WLAN Utility but you do see one called Bluetooth you probably have the X50 Basic version. If this is the case you'll need to buy a WiFi card to go into either your CF or SD card slot in order to take advantage of 802.11 wireless networking.

You can use the Bluetooth on your device to create a partnership between a cellphone with a dataplan and use that as a modem for wireless web browsing. The cellphone will have to have bluetooth as well.

There's another way to see if you have the X50 Basic Click on Start > Settings > System Tab > System Information applet. If your Processor speed isn't 624MHZ and your ROM Size isn't 128 MB then you definitely have a X50 Basic.

You can get either a Compact Flash or SD WiFi card for your Ax. Just be sure the card works with Pocket PCs. There are some cards made specifically for PALM PDAs.
