Default alert remindes and notification sounds

Hi,
I'm new to the PocketPc. Had a treo650 for a while and just got the 8525.
I have a question about Notification alerts.
How can I get the alerts for new messages and reminders and such to be able to play different sounds than just the short beeping type sounds that come with the device ?

Thanks in advance for any help. 8)

fwellers,

Go to Start menu, Settings Tab, Sounds and Notifications and go down the list till you find the items you want to change. If you want to add a sound place it in the Windows directory.
Believe you have a WM 5.0 device, so unsure if its the same as a WM 2003SE.

Hope this helps.

Default thanks but doesn't work

Hi JM,
I'm using WM5. I tried to place the dogbark file that came on the unit, into the windows directory to see if that would let me see it, but that file already exists there and I still can't see it.

I don't know which directory it uses, but if I'm in sounds and notifications, when I select "Incoming Call", I get one list of music files and sounds ( including dogbark ).
But if I select other notifications, such as "reminder" or "new sms message" etc... I get another list of sounds that are different. Those are short sounds like different types of beeps and such. No music.

Thanks,
Floyd

Floyd,

Did you end up working this one out? I'd be keen to know the answer!

Cheers
