Default Simple HTML form tag support.. 'Browse'???

Hi,

One of the gaping holes in the PIE html support I have found is the lack of support for the type=file FORM tag.

Used to create a 'Browse' button in a form for file uploading.

(Netfront does support this, btw)

Why oh why is this tag not supported in PIE out of the box?

Does anyone know if the Second Edition supports it?

I am building a file uploader/mobile blogger system (which works file in netfront on PPC and Palm - and in the native Browser on a SonyEricsson P800 and P900) .. but not a PocketPC!!!

Does anyone else have any ideas? info? that might help me?

It looks like we're going to be seeing ALOT more devices soon with PPC OS in phones and 'camobys' / pda smartphones etc. so people will surely want this ability.

Thanks,
Kosso

Hi,

I too have noticed this big omission from PIE. Unfortunately I have not found a way around it, because the <input type="file"....> command gives your code a handle onto the selected file - there seems to be no other way of achieving this behaviour.

In the end I had to purchase NetFront, which was a pity. It would be great if PIE handled this functionality.

I will keep looking, and if I find anything of interest I will let you know.

Regards,
pdanford
