SHNotificationAdd() and SHNotificationUpdate()....

Whenever I add a notification using SHNotificationAdd() or update a notification SHNotificationUpdate() it causes the beep of a new notification even if I just update the icon. How can I add and update the notification without the beep. An example of what I'm trying to accomplish with the notifications is like NetNotify http://www.smashcasi.com/netnotify/,
