Default Mobile Computing SIG of SF June meeting: 6/15@Microsoft SF

Software and Hardware for Your Summertime Travels

Wed. June 15th, from 6:30-9:00 @ Microsoft's San Francisco Office, 2nd Floor, Golden Gate Conference Room

RSVP at: http://www.evite.com/reynold_flores@hotmail.com/mcssf

An interesting meeting, with a summer theme!

Whether you need help finding your way on that summer vacation road trip, or you need to stay in touch with the office and get a little work done while hanging out at the beach, this is the season for mobile computing.

At this month's meeting we'll have a look at the various software for the traveler. Of course, there's the GPS navigation to get you to your destination, and Shawna will be showing us some of the newest receivers and software. Then we can look at a few Windows Mobile city and travel guides that help you find your way around once you get there.

David will demo a few such as a guide to the BART and other Bay Area transit systems.

Rey will briefly present Skweezer's update of their web service so that you can access your data faster wherever you may be.

In addition Rey may mention a little bit of what he picked up at last month's Palm Developer's Convention while visiting with the Computer Outlook Radio Show crew who was broadcasting the event during the break.

Of course, there are times when no matter how hard you try, you just can't get away from the office. When that happens, you can save your summer vacation with mobile office software such as TextMaker and cool hardware such as the Bluetooth keyboard from [url=http://www.thinkoutside.com/]ThinkOutside[url].
