Best way to measure the size of your group?

Hi all,

I was thinking the other day about the size of our User Group, which is the PSHUG group in Redmond WA. I couldn't figure out a solid way to measure our size. Would it be by the amount of people on our mailing list? amount of people that show up every month? or only by paid members? I know we have a considerable amount of people who consider themselves members but wonder how others measure their membership.....just curious. I was also curious to know if other groups see their membership growing? Dropping?
