Default Wifi SD Cards

Given I get my PDA fixed I think I'll get it a wifi sd card with 256mb. What type of range do these have and how easy is it to jump onto someone else's network. I live just outside of Alberta's capital city. Also has anyone gone "wardriving" in other parts of the world, like France as I'm planning to holiday there next year.
Thanks for any help
One last thing, what's a good supplier located IN Canada that's cheap?

Default Canadian Source

I can also recommend HandheldCanada for an excellent source of PPC accessories. Since we are both in Edmonton, I'll let you in on a lttle known secret. The cheapest place in town for SD and CF memory is the NAIT Tech Store, located on the first floor of the NAIT HP Centre. As an example, 1GB SD Ram chips (Sandisk) are about $97 CA

The website is http://www.nait.ab.ca/techstore/

Best Wishes!

JD

These SDIO Wi-Fi cards have 802.11b capabilities. Working ranges depend on a number of factors such as signal strength, obstacle limiting-factors, etc.

I don't really know if "accessing someone's network" is illegal here. I'd assume so but all I'd be doing is checking the weather/sports/forums while in the city for free as opposed to for a price on a ****ty screen with my cell.

:rotfl:

Are there not public WLAN hotspots scattered around the city which users can legally hop on to?

Telus has a few for a price and I think there might be ONE free one in all of the city, (not talking about edmonton).

Also keep in mind before forking out ANY money for a SD Wi-Fi card that they're pretty slow, which can be of great disadvantage at times (when, for example, you need to download something over a broadband connection as soon as possible). Check out http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/foru...ic.php?t=28202 on this.
