Default Sending Mail via WiFi Connection

Because WiFi is available at most business hotels/motels these days, I find that I don't need a modem on the road anymore. But I haven't been able to send mail via Inbox because the SMTP address of the WiFi connection isn't available.

Is there something I'm missing, or do I have to resort to a Web mail service to send e-mail on the road?

Some ISP's are really obnoxious as to where you can access e-mail from. For example, my ISP, Telus, is really strict about this. I can recieve e-mail, but I can't send e-mail using a regular e-mail client, I have to use either my Hotmail account or Telus' own web mail system.

If you have a hotmail or msn account you can try sending e-mails using HTTPMail Provider when on the road. It avoids the SMTP issue by using the standard HTTP port/protocol.
