Default satellite internet/wi-fi mobile

I am currently putting a package together for my team we travel and do promotions. The travel is extensive, and it is pertinent to to have a WAN
and an internet connection. I'm considering using satellite service. How is the service? How would I set up a secure wi-fi network using cisco hardware under this? I know there is a time relay using satellite, does that really matter? Internet would be used for IM e-mail and information via the web.WI-Fi would mainly be for p2p communication. If someone understands what I'm trying to fulfill please give me some pointers. Thanks.
Chris

Default ok

it's ok, especially compared to dial up. i have both a wired lan and wireless. don't have a router because the connection between my modem and pc is usb, not cable or dsl.

Default wireless via sattelite

wireless access via sattelite (directway, etc) is ok, but don't depend on it if you need low ping/latency. It is a fat pipe, but a very long fat pipe.
