Default Need new wireless router at home

I currently have a Netgear 814v2 wireless router at home which is giving me fits with my Comcast cable internet service. Often it refuses to renew IP addresses. Also, the speed difference between wired and air is about a 40% drop, from about 7.5 mb/s to about 4.

I figure it's time to update.

Any suggestions?

Avoid Linksys equipment if you need any sort of remote access or VPN access. Google for thousands of frustrated user posts about the quality of Linksys routers and APs.
