Default Jornada 720 & Sony Wireless LAN card - How?

Has anybody either managed or got any ideas on how to get the two things working together?

The Wireless card works with my VAIO, no problems, but in order to get it onto the Jornada, I need some form of drivers - and I can't find any anywhere - does anyone have any ideas how to proceed at all?

TIA

If that's the PCWA-C100, it's the same chipset as the Orinoco cards. In theory, you should be able to install the Orinoco drivers on your 720 (I know that they exist and work). The question is whether or not those drivers will allow you to use the PCWA-C100 with them. Sometimes this sort of thing works, and sometimes not.

The Orinoco has been marketed under many different names and companies: Lucent, Agere, Avaya, and Proxim. I would suggest sticking to the first two for drivers, if you can find them. I think this link is the correct driver package, but I may be wrong:

Post what you find out!

Jorj -

Welcome to PPCT!

Thanks for your suggestion - I have downloaded the Agere drivers, but they don't seem to work - so I'm trawling for the ORiNOCO ones, but haven't found a source yet - your post kick-started my brain and upon looking at the card, it does actually say it's an ORi; it also says Lucent Technologies on it...

I'm not sure if I'm expecting too much - XP may have 'spoiled' me - When I put the card in the slot, the 720 asks for the name of the driver, saying unrecognised card; so, either the Agere aren't loading properly, or [sic] they aren't the right ones...

If it's truly an ORiNOCO chipset, go to www.proxim.com - they bought out the ORiNOCO brand and should have HPC drivers on their site.

In fact, I believe these are the ones you're looking for.

Also, on your VAIO, take a look at which driver the thing is using via Device Manager. That might be of help.
