Cingular confirms price for SX66 Pocket PC phone

I just talked to a Cingular rep and got some details on their pricing for the Siemens X66 Pocket PC phone.

- $649 for 2 yr contract
- $699 for 1 yr contract
- $749 for no contract

No word on availability yet, but it must be soon given all the flyers they sent out and the fact that it's showing up in their reps' computers already.

What features make the S66 special?

It's an okay unit, but nothing special from what I've seen. I'd look at the HP 6315 (providing I could get hold of an unlock code) before I'd get the Seimens.

Then, again, I chose to go with the HP 4700 and a blue tooth cell phone (any will work - take your pick.) The 6315 is less than half as fast as the 4700 and the screen on the 4700 looks good enough to eat! :lol: Besides, while both the Seimens and the 6315 (as well as any other PDA/phone combo) are only GPRS, while you can get an EDGE bluetooth phone to mate with the 4700...

I'd go with separate devices rather than the 6315 but that's just me.

I've been waiting and waiting to get the Nokia 6230 from Cingular. I'm getting impatient, so now I'm thinking the S66 now would be just as good to go with my 2215.
