huh!?! P2P using mobile devices? how long does one need to keep the device online (consider that battery life during broadband is considerably shortened)?

indeed, I see no need for P2P software on a PPC, only data traffic that makes sense for a PPC is in my opinion RSS updates, lite browsing, e-mail and occasional weather forcast updates.

A nice difficult to trace iPAQ plugged into the cigarette lighter downloading illegal material over someone else's unsecure wifi connection!

it sounds like a pretty cool program to me, a novelty really. Too bad they are charging for it.
More and more people are using torrents for legal purposes aka podcasting.

It's sad that people relate P2P to illegal acitivities. There's a lot of legal material out there. from independent music to movies to art to documents. In fact p2p is an effecient way of downloading freeware. Bittorrent is just extremely smart.

I agree that there are many legitimate uses. It would be an efficient way to share material over the internet. If it was a freeware or some large media file that you didn't forsee charging for, you could easily get around needing additional bandwidth to host an FTP. However! if you were to search an torrent like limewire, you'd be very hard pressed to find a legal downloads. |
