iPaq, WM6, ActiveSync 4.5, Outlook 2007, and Notes

I'm having issues trying to get ActiveSync to access my iPaq notes and save them in Outlook.

In the Options menu, the Notes box is either grayed out or missing, so I can't access Notes settings, and I can't arrange a sync to Outlook. I tried uninstalling and re-installing AS, and when I did, it gave me a checkbox for Notes. But when I tried to sync, the Notes icon on the main sync screen disappeared, and the next time I went back to Options, the Notes checkbox was grayed out again.

I'm using the ActiveSync that came with the iPaq (4.5, I believe), and Outlook 2007 (also tried on Outlook 2000. I ran the Outlook 2007 as an upgrade on top of 2000, in order to keep my existing Outlook data. The iPaq is running WM6 Classic, and it's all working on an XP PC.

Any ideas on how I can fix this Notes problem?
