Default Install that CAB file wherever you want

http://www.geocities.com/s_k_s_k_s_kru/#ci

When you install an application from your desktop to your Pocket PC, ActiveSync will allow you to install it in RAM, in a flash ROM file store or on a storage card. When you install a CAB file directly on your device though, you get no choice. It goes into RAM. Until now that is!

CabInstl will let you install applications from CAB files where you choose. It has a few other features too like saving the CAB file after installing (they normally delete themselves) and just expanding the contents of the CAB file rather than installing. The application is free and apparently works on Pocket PC 2000 and 2002 devices, all processors. Thanks to Humphrey for the link.

i recently did a hard reset on my h3850 and did reinstall all the apps in a 64Mb SD Storage card, will this affect the spped of the device? do they ran faster on ram, rom(ipaq file store) or the SD card???

To tell you the truth i did install the apps that will be running all the time on ram(wisbar, dashborad, battery bar, cashorganizer, ewallet) and all the rest in the SD card.

any thoughts???

Default Exceeded daily quota

Exceeded daily quota is what I get when I go to the link.

I hope it becomes available for download again soon.

I'll have to double check this but if you copy your cab file to your Storage Card then run it, I always thought it installed on the Root of where it was.

Um, guys, there was a PocketPCThoughts article on this exact thing about 2 months ago, right? And then the author's site got overloaded... and then some kind person mirrored it... and I've been handing out that mirror URL ever since whenever anyone asks anything even tangentially related to CAB installations or unpacking. There's also Xacrett for RAR and other exotic decompressions, and a few other nifty tools on the same page. Guess I'm not alone in having a funny memory!
