Hard button vs. Soft button?
I really LOVE Pocket Plus and have used it for years. But, for launching apps like Inbox, I've mapped one of my Wizard's hard buttons. But...
When I try to open Inbox using the hard button, it never seems to completely load; only the Inbox menus show up on my screen. However, when I open Inbox using a Pocket Plus-mapped ICON, it opens just fine.
I've mapped the hard button to "Messaging," which HAS to be right, but what is Pocket Plus doing that works so much better?

My K-Jam (wizard) has a button engraved for mail (top left). It seems to open mail/messaging to the same thing that my Pocket Plus mail icon opens to. That's typically where mail was last. What does yours do?

When I press the hard key, my device *tries* to open Inbox/Messaging, but it never seems to open completely (Today screen is visible, but menu items on bottom bar change to New, etc.) or it take over a minute to open. With an icon I've set up with Pocket Plus, it opens immediately.
I can't imagine what the difference would be between assigning a button and assigning an icon...

Registry corruption maybe? Tried setting the hard mail button to something else, rebooting and then setting it back and rebooting?

Did you once install that virus known as flexmail? I installed it once and after I realized it was the slowest most corrupt piece of software I had ever installed I removed it. Only after I removed it did I realize it had destroyed my registry. I ended up doing a hard reset to fix it.

That's a VERY good point! I did install FlexMail a long time ago and also got rid of it because it dragged my device down to a crawl. And, now that I think about it, I seem to remember noticing my hard button problem right at that same time.
I bet you're right. Even though I've long since uninstalled FlexMail, I ought to do a registry search to see if any vestiges remain (if they're not too well hidden).
Thanks for the tip, Cirrob. I'll report back with my results.
