Default Error message appearing when playing wma files in Windows Media Player 8

I've been trying to get some wma files to play in windows media player. Whenever I try and play the music files I get the following error message:

"Windows Media Player cannot find the file. You may be connected to the network, the file file may have moved, or you may have entered an incorrect file name or path".

The files are definitely there as I can see them in file explorer and when I double click Windows media player loads.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks.

Are you playing off a playlist or from "Local Content"?

If you're on a playlist and rearranged the files, they may not be found. The Local Content part will look to what's actual on your PPC and not what your playlist says.

I'm playing from local content held on the storage card.
I even tried double clicking on the files held on the storage card. One of the MP3's now works but the wma files don't.
When I try to play the wma files do they try and look on the desktop PC for the original version?

Default Do you have EUU3?

I saw this occasionally and a friend of mine saw it frequently prior to installing EUU3 which includes Media Player v8.5. You don't mention which Pocket PC you are using, but check to see if the manufacturer has released Pocket PC 2002 End User Update 3 (EUU3) for it. Media Player v8.5 is generally a much better player than v8.0 is.

Right I've got all the patches. One thing I've never had to do is to backup all the information on my IPAQ H3970. Any tips?

Thanks.
