Active Sync 4.5 -- Can not sync files

I thought I could sync a file from my computer by dragging it to the "active sync" folder shortcut on my desktop. When I created by connection, I checked the box to sync files which created the folder WM_estolld My Documents. Dragging files to this folder does NOT sync with my iPAQ. I must open the iPAQ files via Active Sync file explorer and drag the file to appropriate folder. Also, in the options dialog, there is NOT a check box next to the files icon and there are not any option settings available. I remember having option settings for files at one time. Any thoughts on this is appreciated.

I have the following software installed: Bible Reader from OliveTree, FlexWallet 2006, Pocket Genealogist, Pocket Informant, Pocket Quicken 2.2, Pocket Time Card, SprintDB Pro, Metro, oneworld (AA flight schedules), Pocket Streets, Pocket Travel, Sky Team (Delta flight schedules, United flight schedules, Pocket Holidays, Spd Backup, and Wakeup Tweak.
