I don't use playlists! I just use "local content."

FYI, boston is on tour this summer, from what I've heard they play a 2.5-3h set, I'm going to see them the 8th at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in San Antonio. Tour info can be found at http://www.boston.org/concert.html

I don't usually create playlists by artist or album, I create them to suit my different moods or situations. For instance:

Exercise
High Energy
Relaxation
Rock and Roll Classics
Favorite Old Hymns
Etc...

As a result, I have a lot of redundancy in my playlists. For example, a couple of my Fleetwood Mac songs are in several playlists.

Nice selection, Dave (well, except for Shania, I can't stomach her :razzing. BTW: Evanescence is no longer obscure -- they've made it on top 40 and alt-rock stations, and I've heard it in cars at least once a day walking around.

Brad: I used to do it that way, but I like full-album listening now, especially those which are supposed to have a flow. To each their own.

Bookmarked. Some of your tastes are very close to mine. I've tried Fiona Apple several times and it is hit or miss and have never brought myself to by a CD.

She grows on you. Her first CD has some really good songs and a couple that I wish I could scratch off the surface of the disc. That's why being able to rip discs is so important to me; I can listen to only the songs I want whenever and wherever I want. Copy protected CDs that force me to listen in a real CD player with no playlist that would allow me to skip those "bad" songs just piss me off.

I found Amerigo Poppy while reading up on PHPNuke on another discussion forum. The guy who does their Web site posted a link to it and I was hooked. Although their entire CD is available for free as MP3s on their site, I bought the CD that day.

Yes, you're correct. I really like the song Bring Me to Life but it's so overplayed on the radio now that I don't even listen to it on my own very much. When I first heard Evanescence, I wasn't sure it was my type of music, but Amy Lee's voice really grabbed me. Her powerful vocals shine through the heavy guitars and such and make for a unique sound that I've really come to enjoy.
