Default Vista Mobile Device Center Doesn't Recognize HTC Advantage

Greetings,

Been trying unsuccessfully so far to connect my new HTC Advantage X7501 to my laptop running Vista Home Premium...maybe someone can advise??

Have checked settings for connection; USB/BT....

Have checked that Mobile Device Center is installed and installed updates from Windows Update and rebooted...

Have checked drivers per MS Mobile Device Center webpage....

Still no go...strange thing is that when I connect my X7501 to my laptop via the USB cable I do see the rotatin little green circular arrow appear on the desktop for a bit and then disappear, so laptop must know that I've connected something to it. But it won't open Mobile Device Center as it's supposed to....

Any suggestions???

Thanks!

OK, crisis solved....

surfed around and found answer on xda-developer forums...

Settings > Connections > USB to PC -> uncheck Advanced features.

That did it!
