Storage cards, folders, files - help

Hi all,

Sorry for the basic question. I would like to better understand the way files and folders, storage cards, etc are organized on the PPC. I have a "My Documents" under My Device and also I have a "My Documents" in my storage card. Since I do not want to take up any of my main menu with files, notes, voice notes, etc, should I just delete the "My Docs" form the main memory and use only the "My Docs" on the storage card?
Is this what most of you do?

Also, is there a post or article on general file structure and organization on a PPC?

I wish! The problem lies with the way MS designed syncing between desktop and Pocket PCs. In essence, you're only allowed to sync files through the My Documents folder in main memory and nowhere else. This was back in the day when expansion cards came in MB sizes (if you actually had a device with an expansion slot) rather than the GB sizes we get today. It's never been changed since, and you shouldn't delete the My Docs folder for that reason.

There are of course a number of workarounds - if syncing isn't an issue for you, than by all means move your documents to the card, and just ignore the folder in main memory. Just bear in mind that some programs keep templates and other necessary files in My Documents in main memory. Another solution is to get a third-party file synchroniser that can handle storage cards, which is what I did for a couple of years.
