Reformating SD card.
Is there any way to reformat an SD card without buying a program like Pocket Mechanic? Thanks.

There is no program in the Pocket PC OS that allows you to natively format it. The best thing to do would be to buy a card reader for your PC. Do you already have one of these?

Yes, but it's not free. I think BarePaw is after a free solution. Not that purchasing a card reader is free either, but I'm sure it will serve him/her well in the long run.

I would have to agree with Darius, as my card reader has been so useful. I use it for everything, SD transfers, CF transfers, viewing pictures on the computer without actually transferring pics from the card to the PC etc.
I would suggest that you get a card reader that is multi, just in case you buy products that take different types of cards.

I was looking for a free way out, but a card reader for my PC isn't a bad idea. I have a camera that takes CF cards, so a multi-card reader would be quite useful.

Palm OS has an app where you can essentially turn your handheld into a USB drive, sync direct to card. You can reformat it, too. Is there anything like that for PPC? (I'm new) It would sound ideal, given this thread...

I agree that the multi card reader would be handy, but if you are only dealing with SD or if you just want a more portable solution, then go with the Jump Drive Trio by Lexar. I know we've covered these on the forums somewhere, but I'll say it again. ...these things rule!
