Default Problems installing software

Not sure where I should post this....

Over the last couple of months I've started to have problems installing software onto my HPC.

This is not related to my HPC or the actual HPC software (I think).

It seems that when I launch the exe on my Windows XP Home desktop to install the software - I get an error message akong the lines of 'Windows 16 sub system - this file is not able to be run on this system - autoexec.nt'

Well, something along those lines - I'm in Poland and away from my desktop (in the UK) and don't have GotomyPC set up :-(

Does this sound familiar to anyone?

I suspect I've corrupted a dsktop file somewhere along the way.

And no, I'm not trying to execute the HPX exe file on my desktop in case that seems an obvious error.

Hope someone has a bright idea.

Cheers

Andrew
