Default Motorola MPx (or MPX300)

Anyone familiar with configuring this type of phone? I purchased it unlocked and its great. Everything works except for picture messages (sending pics via txt msg or multi media msg). I'm on the AT&T Wireless network (formerly cingular) and I need to configure the proper settings for MMS. Since my device is running Windows Mobile 2003 the following is what the device prompts me for when configuring MMS settings. (this function worked on my previous device so the service on my account is active)

From MMS Settings I need to choose the following:

Connect via? (the internet, My ISP, Secure WAP Network, The WAP
Network,)

Retrieve messages Immediately: check or uncheck?

ok to download when roaming: check or uncheck?

Then I need to create a new server connection with the following:

Server Name?

Gateway?

Port?

Server Address?

Default Motorola MPX300

Hi

I am considering buying an MPX300 for use on the AT&T, formerly Cingular, system.

I intend to use it mostly as a phone, often for text messages, and possibly some computer applications such as keeping a calendar.

How well does this phone work and what should I look for when buying a used phone?

Also, why is this phone so uncommon?

Thanks!

Jim

The MPx was a still-born product...it was never released world-wide. It was released I believe only in Singapore so Motorola could say they technically released it - but it was a dead product because it only had 32 MB of RAM. It would have been useless.

Not entirely useless - I suppose if you got one for $50 or something it might be worth it, but let's keep in mind it's a Pocket PC 2003 SE phone...that's an OS that's over four years old now. There are far better products out there today. And if it's your first Windows Mobile phone, it might not make a good first impressions.

With only 32 MB of RAM, it would have trouble multi-tasking and being stable. I personally didn't like the keyboard, but your experience may vary.
