iPAQ and a satellite phone?

Has anyone ever linked/tried to link an iPAQ, or any PPC for that matter, up to a satellite phone to access email/the internet? Is this possible, and if so, what satphone model works for said arrangement?

I've seen a few expedition blogs where people have updated their site from their ipaqs. If you have an ipaq that supports serial connection, check with satphone manufacturers to see if they have serial cables. Some might even have bluetooth by now, possibley infared. I know if has been done, you'll just have to look around the web.
