iPaq 19xx case experience

Folks,

Need your help making a decision. Trying to choose between Proporta Leather and Aluminium cases.

Leather, of course, would be more for me as far as usability goes: I'd be able to replace my wallet with it. But, while using my Palm III/Treo 90, I acquired a nasty habit of carrying them in my back jeans pocket; both survived.

Therefore, I have a question: has anyone attempted carrying 19xx PPC in the same fashion, protected just by leather case? Would it survive 170lbs sitting on it?
