Default iPAQ 1935 keyboard?

Is there a keyboard that works for the iPAQ 1935? I looked at the hp website, but all they had was 2xxx series and upper series keyboards. Or is the iPAQ 1900 series uncompatible with keyboards?

For the 19xx series, HP switched the serial pins, so you can't use anything made for any other HP product.

Since no one makes a keyboard specifically for the connector on the 19xx series, you're stuck with an IR keyboard.

Of course, you could always wait to see if ThinkOutside gets their bluetooth keyboard ready and released around May-ish...

The Hp1930 does not have BlueTooth, you are stuck with IR... I do not know where you are but I know that in Canada Staples and London Drugs are selling the Targus unit currently for $79 can...

They're not bad - they just require a bit more work to use than just plugging your PPC into a connector. I think the ThinkOutside Stowaway XT IR keyboard is probably the best. There's also the PocketTop IR.

Keep in mind that both of these models remove the number row - if you need them, you're stuck with something like the Targus Universal Wireless keyboard, which has some interesting features (a "mouse", for one), but is HUGE in it's folded state. Probably more than an inch thick. Truly a brick. But it works ok (my wife has one), aside from a very flaky driver that won't uninstall.

I've recently went through the same search my my 1935. Ideally, I wanted to get a thumb (micro) keyboard that snaps onto the bottom of the unit.

The problem with the 19XX series isn't the connector - the 19XX series just doesn't support serial. I guess they had to cut corners somewhere to get the price point so low. It's not a big deal really - unless you want to connect a keyboard.

The suggestion to use a IR keyboard earlier in this thread is, in fact, the only hardware solution available. The only other option is a software based data entry method. There are many available out there like Calligrapher, TenGo, Fitaly etc. (I personally like TenGo the best)

The one that comes the closest to emulating an actual full sized keyboard, in my opinion, is SPB Full Screen Keyboard: (I use this as well)
