Default Initializing memory card interface

I've noticed this problem particularly once I've added an additional Compact Flash card to my PPC. Many times when I power off my PPC for an extended amount of time, then turn it back on and attempt to access either my CF or SD storage cards, the device freezes. I suspect it's because the storage card interface has somehow been "suspended" and needs to be reinitialized. The problem is, my PPC tends to stay frozen and I must soft reset. Therefore, I'm interested if anyone knows a method or program I can use to reinitialize the storage card interface (versus soft-resetting every time)?

i think there is something in the forums about this... u have to make an adjustment to the Registry to lower/raise the secs how long the CF slot stay active after turning off.

i will look around in a little bit..but even try aximsites forums...dont remember where i saw it. but it is there.

Thanks for the recommendation. I hope you find info in these forums because I can't seem to find it yet. I'll keep looking though...

Thanks isajoo, I'll give this a try. The funny thing is, I used to know this fake server hack a long time ago, but got lazy after a few hard resets and never activated this hack again. I'll definitely try this out because a lot of the symptoms the thread mentioned I'm also experiencing:

* Axim Will not power on after standby?
* Losing CF or SD cards?
* Battery losing charge while on standby?
* Axim overheating when left in standby mode?

This should really help me. Thanks very much!

UPDATE 1: So far so good, after using this tweak and suspending my PPC for a few hours, I've just powered it up and so far so good. I'll monitor it further these next few days to see if any problems arise.

UPDATE 2: It seems to be working flawlessly, no problems at all.

Thanks for the registry hack and link. I'll try them as I still get a sort of delay sometimes.
