Default HTC wireless modem driver

Hello,

I have been using gprs connection in my ppc to access internet in my notebook which has XP. I used the HTC USB wireless modem driver. But infortunately the driver doesn't work with Vista. Can someone please point me the working driver for this... Thanx a million in advance.

Well, you only really have two sources: HTC and Windows Update. If neither have a Vista-compatible driver, your options remain thin.

How are you attempting to install the driver? Using an installation package or manually importing the appropriate INF file via Device Manager?

If the driver doesn't work and your notebook has BT, you can use your PDA as a modem through it too. For it to work, you don't need any modem driver.

Configuring Windows to access BT through DUN via Pocket PC's is very easy, despite what some people say (for example, you don't have to supply the APN on the desktop, as opposed to what is stated for example here).

The only catch is ensuring that the DUN profile is included on the Pocket PC. There were a couple of devices that excluded it, but public outcry made the manufacturers act fast with a ROM update. 8)
