The first thing I would do is to ask Handango to provide you with proof positive that the checks they claim to have sent you have been signed.
Their bank will have/or should have photo copies of the check and the signature on microfisce or some other medium. Provide them with proof of your signature. Once Fraud is proved their insurance should cover the fraud. But if they put up a fuss or can't produce the evidence...find a lawyer.
