Default Aiiighhh!! MediaNet versus Data/Smartphone Connect Plans

Okay,
With the new Blackjack that I got last night, I got a 39.99 a month PDA Unlimited plan. I get 1500 emails, unlimited internet.

They offer a MediaNet Unlimited bundle for the same price BUT you get unlimited messages, IMs, Cingular Video and unlimited internet. They tell me that since I have a PDA/Smartphone I have to have the PDA plan.

Should I be able to get Cingular Video with my PDA Unlimited plan?

If you talk to the right customer service rep, you can move from PDA Unlimited to MediaNet Unlimited. Then you can watch "Cellular Video". I have a BlackJack also, but you didn't hear that from me.

Visit a local AT&T/Cingular store and have them bring up your account.
Discuss it and get it corrected.

The plan you are inquiring about is a BLACKBERRY PLAN.
When I last checked, the Black JACK was not a Black BERRY.
It qualifies for the SMARTPHONE $19.99 plan.

--edit--

I am looking at my online bill now.
The data plan looks like this...

Smart Phone Connect
BM ME NET MAIL UNL $19.99 Current Feature

This is what you need...

Sorry Promano, Cingular considers any phone with a touch screen OR KEYBOARD to be a PDA, not smartphone. Any Cingular rep will tell you that. The PDA unlimited price is also 39.99 but like almost every other BJ user Ive heard from, including me, the media net/max packages work out fine. Just be sure not to abuse the data (100+ mb) or they'll flag your account.

For right now, I will keep the plan I have, as it qualifies me for the $100 rebate. After I have deposited the rebate check, I might look into switching. I have heard of folks getting the Smartphone plan on the Blackjack (like nutzareus), even though the BJ is considered a PDA.

You'll want to be careful about switching data plans. I checked with my ATT manager buddy and he said he can switch the plan but ATT will eventually switch it back since the rules state any full keyboard device is supposed to have the PDA connect plan.

I know they are monitoring their network since I had Ulimited PDA and was using Goodlink. I just got a letter stating they are adding another $5/month since I need the Unlimited PDA + Goodlink plan...what a bunch of horse ****
