that is because there are issues with some of the eSATA ports on the motorola boxes. No these days, motorola is the exception.
I don't see how Microsoft can NOT allow some sort of encrypted storage option if they are going to start promoting more content through XBL.

Its growing on me, I found myself checking out avatars the other day. Media stuff is a little disappointing, but beyond that, I'm liking it all.

Feel free to correct me on this, but as far as I understand, the Xbox 360 hard drives are just 2.5 inch SATA drives. I've heard that if you clone your old 20 gig hard drive on to a new drive of your choice, it will work with the Xbox 360. I have no idea if that is legal or not.

Yeah, but you'd have to crack open the hard drive case, right? That might get ugly if it wasn't designed to be opened easily - and I'd have to think that if it was that easy to get a new hard drive in there, there would be companies offering Xbox 360 hard drives in a variety of sizes...Microsoft must do something to stop that sort of thing.

So after using this for a couple of weeks, I totally love it - I can't imagine going back to the old one.

I'm so-so on the Avatars - I don't really pay attention to them since they're not really in your face all that much...though I don't do much "social" stuff on my Xbox, so others might see them more than I do.
