Audioengine A5+ speakers
I listen to just about everything from my Android phone: Music on Spotify and Google Music, books on Audible, podcasts on Google Listen, and sports with TuneIn Radio.
In the house, I have a 20 year old JVC home theater receiver that's almost as big as a pair of concrete blocks and twice as heavy. It does nothing except provide an amplifier to a pair of Bose Acoustimass speakers (they're white, which is an indication of their age). In the garage, I have a pair of self-powered Altec Lansing speakers made for a desktop computer that I bought at a garage sale. OK for the garage, but not much volume. Both are connected through the audio out (headset) connector on the Android phone.
The Audioengine A5+ speakers would be terrific in my home because they'd save space by replacing both my old receiver/amp and speakers and the connecting wiring. I could just plug in the Audioengine A5+ where I want them and it would be an improvement from my very, very old woofer-less Bose speakers! I'd probably connect my Android with a simple bluetooth receiver output to the speakers via wire.
