I've finally built my WHS, but it's still a single drive machine. Would use it to have shares duplication or as an external backup.

I currently have no actual desktop PC of my own at the moment. I am a computer science student, and for my school, we are leased laptops. But, every year we have to bring our computers back to IT to get them reimaged (mandatory) and to have new software installed. As anyone can tell you, moving over 70 Gbs of media via a 4 gb flash drive onto another computer AND BACK, is a hugggge pain. And remember, I have to do this every year (twice; once to back up, and one to restore).

I have been contemplating buying a large HDD and putting it into an enclosure for transfer and storage. PLEASE pick me! I will put it to good use! =)

I currently have a 120 gig hard drive that is full of pictures and media. If I won I would use this hard drive as an external hard drive using on of these:

I will put the drive in an enclosure (to be used with my notebook) because I don't have a desktop at the moment.

I would use the extra drive to replace my 160gb internal drive for backups.

I am running an 80gb HDD and it is packed. A 500gb drive would replace it.

I just had my boot drive crash. It was a 250 GB Seagate hard drive. If I win a new drive, it will go into my case as the new boot drive. I have backup drives already. Just ordered a new case (with better airflow) and a 500w psu. So it will have a nice home!

I will use it for replacing my 2 80gig drives. Which is too small for anything these days anyways

Hi. If I won one of the available drives, i'd use it to get a working HD casing to fix my external 750GB drive that's broken. It was dropped (by a family member) and hasn't worked since and after opening it up, I noticed that the needle inside the drive wasn't working as it should...so I know I need a new case (or at least one that works). I had some data on the discs inside the drive and so would like to get them back by doing the replacement of the disks into the case of the 500GB drive. :-)
