Very cool stuff, Jason. I am jazzed over the Vista Camcorder, but would be a happy camper to win anything. You have the coolest job in this give-away: The bestower of wondrous cyber-toys. What fun!
While I can't do it right now, I will try to write up a short piece for this zine on two of the hottest DSLRs on the market, including the new Nikon D60 and its equal number Canon. I have been a shutterbug for years and beta-tested both lightroom and the new Photoshop. Adobe already has it in the works to put out new software late this year. IE-They are trying to go with a single year subscription arrangement which strikes me as a bit crazy given the complexity of each major software type.
It seems that IT firms are willing to go with unrealistic consumer replacement timetables. Dell and friends got hammered when they assumed the market would force consumer into an 18 month-2yr hardware replacement cycle. And, this happened long before the credit crutch was upon us. They collectively got a bucket of cold H20 on their bottom line. Back comes Michael Dell,,, you know the rest. Microsoft choked on a Longhorn-bad joke. The lesson that should have been learned from this continuing nightmare is never to assume that both 1) Creativity can be forced or that: 2) industry can dictate consumer buying habits.
I will try to write on the above in a more coherent manner, over the weekend.
