"The creative juices are flowing at the Windows hardware conference in Seattle this week. Hewlett-Packard and Microsoft, among others, have shown off updated concepts of consumer and business PCs, plus a peek into the future of the Media PC. From Hermes and Troy to the Windows Home concept PC, our own Mark Hachman is scouring the show floor capturing the visual spectacle that is WinHEC 2004..."

Ugh! Will any of these devices become REAL products? The PC giants remind me of GM. They show off amazing concept products, and have no intention of ever building them.

I have to agree with Kent here. I wonder whether these products will really make it. Although, I suspect it is easier to put out tech like this than one of those concept cars ;-)

Actually I've been fairly impressed with how many of the concept devices are produced. Think of the eHome/DMC PCs and Tablet PCs of a few years ago. It may take some time, but if they're good products, companies will make them.
