Default Review of Fujifilm Z1

http://www.trustedreviews.com/article.aspx?head=63&page=3965

"It has a sleek futuristic appearance, with a wrap-around back panel and a flat, almost featureless front unlike anything else in Fuji’s extensive camera range. At just 18.6mm thick it is one of the slimmest cameras on the market, while its front dimensions are smaller than a pack of cigarettes. The main reason for its compact size it the non-extending 3x optical zoom lens. Although Fuji was somewhat vague about how this actually works, the most likely explanation is that it’s mounted vertically inside the camera and looks out via a prism, rather like a periscope."

The Z1 is available in either matt black or flat metallic silver for about £220. The review seems to conclude that the camera, while very good looking and very fast, does not produce the best quality images. So if you are fashion conscious, perhaps this camera is for you, but read this review to find out more about the problems with image quality.

The very first thing I look at when shopping for a digicam is what memory slot does it use?!

It's a lot more important than APS vs. 35mm, because cards are reusable but more importantly exchangeable between different electronic devices.

Anything that does't use CF or SD cards is just trash to me.

Once you understand the importance and expenrience the pleasure of sharing cards between devices you just can't go into incompatibility territories.

When your PDA memory card becomes too small for your needs you still can use it in your digicam, moviecam, MP3 player, phone, etc.

BUT ONLY if all support the same card standard.

Is your phone card full? your digicam full? and you need to take another shot?

If they all use the same card standard you can do it 8), else you're screwed up .

Unfortunately this camera uses the very limited, expensive, low capacity, slow and hard to find xD card format  :2gunfire:
