"What the consumer would buy is a data file, and you could create whatever you need. If you want to make an MP3, you make an MP3. If you want a DVD-Audio surround disc, you make that." I like that, "The new format is no format". Of course in reality it does't quite work that way since we have currently have a couple of flavors of DRM and we can convert them to MP3 easily. Still maybe the RIAA is learning something about consumers and how they want to buy their music.
