Default Nikon D2X Review

http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1759,1847867,00.asp?kc=PCRSS02129TX1K0000530

"Digital-SLR enthusiasts and even pro shooters will be rendered speechless when they pick up Nikon's top-of-the-line D-SLR, the 12.3-megapixel Nikon D2X ($4,999.95 list). After the oooohs and aaaahs (and recovery from the shock of its very high price), there will be a long pause as they analyze all the features available on the D2X's body (the camera doesn't come with either a kit lens or a built-in flash). The Nikon D2X captures images on a CMOS sensor, unlike Nikon's other D-SLRs, which use CCD sensors. It's loaded with features, including 11 selectable autofocus sensors that can also be used to track fast-moving subjects..."

I decided to stop copying and pasting the features. Without a doubt, the camera is incredible and completely feature-full. I would like to see a head-to-head comparison between the D2X and the Canon 1D Mark II or 1Ds MarkII. If you can get past the price tag, I would bet you would be very happy with this camera, although the lack of built-in flash is a bit sucky IMHO. One would be forced to carry around an external flash at all times just adding to the weight of the body and lenses.

I don't really see the lack of a built-in flash as a drawback. My Canon EOS-1D Mk II does not have one either and I haven't really missed it. My previous camera, a Canon D60, had the built in flash and I couldn't use it because of the diameter of the lenses I use - they cast a shadow into the picture with a built in flash. I think that most purchasers of cameras of this caliber would have a similar problem unless they're using a basic lens which I find rather unlikely.
